CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY KICKS OFF IN GREENWOOD

The CPA opened its first night of classroom instruction with discussions on the history of the Greenwood Police Department, internal police investigations, and the steps in hiring new officers. Chief Keith Jackson, Capt Richie Wolford, and Lt James Flynn all presented material on the subjects. The class ran about 40 minutes over schedule, but all class members enjoyed the discussion.

Participants will be learning about different units and divisions with the Greenwood Police Department in the upcoming weeks. Officers from each unit in the department will be presenting different topics throughout the coming weeks, and participants will be able to interact with officers at all levels of the department. The course will culminate with a dinner and graduation ceremony on November 20th.
