During the night of the 26th, there were a total of five vehicles which were broken into in the Creekwood Addition. All of the victims were located on Sugarberry Drive and Whippoorwill Drive. The suspects targeted vehicles which were left unsecured, and they took various small items which were easily carried.
“I cannot stress enough the importance of simply locking your doors”, said Lt James Flynn. “More often then not, these are simply crimes of opportunity which a locked door would prevent.”
“A suspect would simply have bypassed the locked door and the theft would have been prevented”, Flynn added.
The same neighborhood also had a vehicle stolen during the same time frame last night. The vehicle, a 2003 Honda Pilot, was parked on Chinaberry Drive during the evening hours of the 26th. The owner noticed the vehicle missing and reported it stolen at approximately 630am this morning.
At this point, investigators do not have any solid leads and are seeking any input from neighbors who may have observed something or someone suspicious in the area. It is unknown if the vehicle theft and the vehicle break ins are related.
