Investigations Division

The Criminal Investigations Division of the Greenwood Police Department is comprised of very dedicated and professional investigators.  Sgt. Nicholas Driscoll is the acting commander for the CID Division.

Areas for which the Division has responsibilities include School Resource Officers, Narcotics, and Sex Offenders.

The Function of CID is to investigate all minor and major crimes. Unlike some larger departments that have Detectives who specialize in certain crimes, Greenwood Police Department’s Detectives investigate a wide variety of crimes.

After Patrol takes the initial report, the CID commander reviews and assigns the cases to a Detective. Each case is worked until all leads have been followed and the crime is solved or the case goes cold.

Detectives at the Greenwood Police Department work hard to solve each crime and make the best effort possible to prosecute each crime accordingly.
