Crime is inevitable. However, crime prevention and community action efforts are viable additions to reactionary enforcement and can affect crime rates, quality of life and the sense of security, well-being and self-determination within a community.

The men and women of the Greenwood Police Department work closely with business, schools, associations and civic groups to make Greenwood a safer and more enjoyable place to live. The qualities of dedication, loyalty, integrity and willingness to serve as partners in the community are key values among staff in providing public safety and protection to the public.

Patrol Supervisor, Sgt. Mark Mergen.
