Storm Shelter Information

Greenwood Police would like you to take a moment to look over the safe rooms rules. Safe rooms are located at the storm shelters in Greenwood.

Chief Will Dawson says, “The rules are in place to insure the safety and comfort level of all those that utilize the facilities. Officers and school officials will enforce the rules for those reasons.” Tornado season generally runs from March to May and is already upon us. Lt. Brad Hobbs stated, “Please take time to know the rules prior to an emergency. The goal is for everyone to be safe.”

Things to Remember
  • Safe Room doors automatically unlock when the tornado siren sounds.
  • The Safe Room is open to the public when a tornado warning has been issued and/or the tornado sirens have sounded.
